Student Speaker Selected for Commencement

After the last presentations are delivered, exams completed and papers submitted, those select few who have completed their course of study will have two things left to do: participate in Baccalaureate and receive their degrees at Commencement. These two traditions will, for many seniors, be the capstone of their time at college and their Goucher experience.

Goucher College's second Relay for Life took place April 30th and May 1st at Gopher Stadium. Participants fought through inclement weather to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Last year, the Relay was not held here at Goucher, but students raised over $17,000 for cancer research.

Seniors Organize End-of-Year Unwanted Items Donation Drive

Sofas don't fit on airplanes. The bookstore doesn't buy everything back. People get tired of their clothes. For these reasons, Goucher's trash rooms fill up at the end of every year, and not just with six-month-old pizza boxes. This year, a group of seniors plan to use some time during senior week, the period between finals and graduation, to donate students' unwanted useable items.

Dance Professor Wins Prestigious Award

Saturday, May 7 at the Hippodrome Theatre in Baltimore, Professor of Dance, Chrystelle Bond, will receive the first Baltimore Dance Treasure Award from local dance organization Dance Baltimore. Created in 2003, Dance Baltimore works to integrate dance in the Baltimore area by holding presentations on dance, free classes, workshops, and performances and maintenance of a website in an effort to promote the art of dance and make a "grassroots effort...[to create] a community of dancing," according to Bond.

Questions Answered about Res Life, Room Draw, and Housing

Students will be brought back to campus from the Dulaney Valley Apartments (DVA) and from off-campus living. Seniors Can Keep Email Accounts

For the first time, Goucher College will make e-mail available to graduating seniors. Starting this year, e-mail forwarding will be in place so that alumni and former students can provide their Goucher addresses to anyone until the end of, well, the Goucher e-mail server.

Goucher Students Vote on Proposed SGA Constitution

The Goucher student body will vote today on a series of changes to the Student Government Association's constitution, which was approved by the SGA Legislature last Wednesday. The current SGA constitution was last amended in 2002. SGA president Josh Stober '06 says that changing the constitution was one of his goals when he took office in fall 2003.
