The reality of having a hotel dorm room

      Few college students are able to tell this kind of story. Kameryn Westling is one of the first Goucher students to call 903 Dulaney Valley Road "home." She is living in the Sheraton Baltimore North hotel.       About a month before she was due to report to campus, Kameryn started getting nervous.

New library gets a mixed response from students

      The technology services from Thormann have been moved across campus to the Julia Rogers Library. Some students are glad that everything they need is all in one place. Others are angry and confused. The administrators who decided to make the move are confident that the student body will soon embrace the change.

A once-in-a-lifetime trip

      A good friend told me that I am able to bring two, 70 pound suitcases on international flights. It was a relief to hear. As if studying internationally isn't expensive enough, the costs of little things like electric converters and hairdryers that use the right voltage add up.

Getting out of the bubble

      The city of Baltimore opened up to me without the restraint of a bus route this year. Doing some research on the Baltimore Collegetown website (http://www.colltown.org), I read about a district in North Baltimore called Hampden. Described as "a rather stunning array of quirky-cool shops, galleries, restaurants, and coffee shops," I decided to make a visit.
