This time of year is fraught with many religious celebrations, both at school and at home. For anyone of the Jewish or Christian faith, this is a holy time of year; Passover and Easter are observed. Some people choose to go home for these holidays in order to be with their family.
It's that time of year again. The singing birds, the lazy days on the quad, the sunshineand unfortunately, the studying for finals. While I love the Julia Rogers Library and have spent many late nights there, the atmosphere of stressful students is a little overwhelming for my taste.
In a polite and quietly charming way, libraries are educating this nation. The world's oldest and largest library association, the American Library Association, asserts that 62% of Americans hold library cards. Libraries -- whether found in schools, residential communities, universities, hospitals, businesses or the armed forces -- are a place to meet, learn, educate and of course, read.
