Bed bugs force 94 students to move from DVA in Quarter housing quandry

On Sunday, September 28 all 94 Goucher residents of the Dulaney Valley Apartments were e-mailed and told they would not be moving into the unfinished Quarter, but would be moved out of their apartments immediately due to confirmed rumors of a bed bug infestation.

Community Bike Program: riding away from Goucher?

Last semester, when the Goucher College Community Bike Program program was implemented, it was a success. Within two weeks of the start of this semester, however, all of the bikes were damaged and one bike was missing. Wendy Belzer Litzke, Special Assistant to the President and Director of Government and Community Relations, spoke at an SGA Legislature meeting on October 1 to discuss what should be done about the program.

Faculty & staff changes bring many new faces to campus

Every year people retire, new openings are created, and Goucher brings in several new faces. According to Provost Marc Roy, once a department submits a request for a new faculty member, job ads are placed in national publications.

Zipcars help alleviate transportation worries

Now sitting in the two front row spots in the Dorsey Center parking lot are new members of the Goucher community: two brand new hybrid Honda Civics. As a part of the Zipcar program, Goucher has received two hybrid cars for students 18 years and older with a valid driver's license, as well as staff, to use 24/7 for any purpose.

The Quindecim has been granted regular access to information about sexual misconduct and violations of the Code of Conduct and the Academic Honor Code. The Q has also been granted access to information about rulings and sanctions given as a result of these violations.

Constitution Day speaker tells harrowing tales

On September 16, Goucher celebrated Constitution Day by holding a luncheon and talk by lawyer William J. Murphy, who is representing a Guantanamo Bay Detainee with his firm, Murphy & Shaffer LLC. Murphy's discussion, "The Writ of habeas corpus and the protection of civil liberties in Maryland and Guantanamo Bay," began with the history and definition of habeas corpus in the constitution.
