The Quindecim has just confirmed that Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul will speak at Goucher in April.
He is currently scheduled to speak on Monday, April 14 at 7:30 p.m. However, details are subject to change, according to Kristen Keener in the Office of Communications.
The event will be free and open to the public, Keener said.
Paul represents the 14th congressional district of Texas, where he just won his district's primary to retain the seat.
He is running a distant third for the Republican presidential nomination behind Sen. John McCain and Gov. Mike Huckabee. In an average of national polls, McCain is leading Paul 56.5 percent to 6.7 percent. Huckabee is polling at 26.5 percent, according to RealClearPolitics.org.
Paul is a medical doctor, specializing in obstetrics/gynecology.
Back in November, Goucher was mentioned on ABC's "This Week" program by host George Stephanopoulos during a conversation about Paul. To see the video, go to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0S0M2a2lYxw.
